About
Hello, I’m Daphne, a mother of three daughters (and two cats), a lifelong supporter of the arts, and a passionate artisan potter.
My journey with clay began many years ago at school, but it wasn’t until my daughters gifted me a pottery course at our local art school for my 60th birthday that I realised just how much I had missed it. What started as a thoughtful present quickly became a much loved hobby.
More than 15 years later, I still attend my weekly pottery sessions and now also spend many joyful hours in my home studio experimenting with shapes, textures, and glazes. I even treated myself to a small kiln, which allows me to refine my work and create pieces that are both functional and full of character.
I have always loved collecting bowls in different forms and materials, so creating my own was a natural step. Today, I specialise in slip cast ceramics, particularly bowls that embody both beauty and practicality.
Each piece is crafted with care, from coffee cups that make your morning ritual special, to tealight holders, trinket dishes, ring holders, and my much-loved photo holder pebbles.
My glazes are inspired by nature; soft, earthy tones and flowing finishes that echo my childhood growing up on the edge of the Scottish Highlands. That landscape, with its shifting skies, rugged textures, and quiet beauty, still shapes the way I work with clay today.
I believe the objects we use every day should be both functional and meaningful. That’s why no two of my ceramics are ever exactly alike, each one carries the small marks of being handmade, making it a little treasure in its own right.
Whether you’re choosing a piece for your own home or as a thoughtful handmade gift, I hope my work brings you as much joy as it brings me in making it.
